Quick vs. Exterior vs. Interior vs. Full Detail: Which to Book
Quick answer
Pick a Quick Detail ($125) for a 60-90 minute interior + exterior maintenance refresh. Pick an Exterior Detail ($150) for a 2-3 hour deep paint clean and sealant. Pick an Interior Detail ($175) for a 3-4 hour interior reset. Pick a Full Detail ($300) for the comprehensive 4-6 hour service combining everything. Sedan pricing shown; SUVs and trucks add $25-$50.

We get the same question often: “Which detail should I book?” The four core packages cover different scopes of work, and picking the right one saves you money if your vehicle doesn’t need everything — or saves time and effort if booking individual pieces would have added up to the full service anyway.
Here’s a clear breakdown of what each package includes, how long each takes, and which one is right for your specific situation.
Quick Detail — $125 sedan / $150 SUV (60-90 min)
The maintenance service. Designed to keep a vehicle that’s already in good condition looking sharp between deeper details.
What’s included:
- Two-bucket hand wash
- Foam pre-soak and rinse
- Hand-dry with plush microfiber
- Tire dressing and wheel face cleaning
- Interior vacuum (carpets, mats, seats)
- Dashboard, console, and door wipe-down
- Glass cleaning, inside and out
Best for: Vehicles detailed within the last 4-6 weeks. Daily drivers between Full Details. Subscription plan visits. Pre-event cleanup (“I need it to look great by Friday”).
Skip if: It’s been 3+ months since your last detail, or the interior needs deep work (shampoo, leather conditioning). The Quick Detail is intentionally a maintenance service — it’s not designed to reset a heavily-used or long-neglected vehicle.
Exterior Detail — $150 sedan / $175 SUV (2-3 hours)
A focused exterior decontamination and protection service. Goes deeper than a Quick Detail’s wash, but doesn’t touch the interior beyond glass.
What’s included:
- Two-bucket hand wash with pH-balanced shampoo
- Iron decontamination and tar removal
- Clay bar paint decontamination
- Wheel and wheel-well deep clean
- Tire shine application
- Spray sealant for hydrophobic protection
- Glass polish and rain-repellent treatment
- Trim restoration on plastic and rubber
Best for: Vehicles whose exterior has gone neglected (3+ months since deep paint work) but whose interior is fine. Pre-summer or pre-winter exterior reset. Vehicles whose interior was just professionally cleaned but exterior needs work. Owners who want the spray sealant protection but don’t need interior service.
Skip if: Your interior also needs work. At that point, the Full Detail is the better deal — booking Exterior + Interior separately costs more than the bundled Full Detail.
Interior Detail — $175 sedan / $200 SUV (3-4 hours)
A deep interior reset. Focused entirely on the cabin — shampoo, steam, leather work, the things a Quick Detail doesn’t touch.
What’s included:
- Full vacuum (seats, carpets, mats, trunk)
- Carpet and upholstery shampoo / steam extraction
- Leather cleaning and conditioning
- Vent steam clean and console detailing
- Headliner spot-cleaning
- Door jamb wipe-down
- Glass cleaning, inside
- Light pet hair removal
Best for: Vehicles with kids, pets, or heavy daily use that have accumulated interior wear. Pre-sale interior reset. Vehicles after road trips or summers of beach use. Owners who keep the exterior clean themselves but want professional interior work periodically.
Skip if: Your exterior also needs work, or if you have heavy pet hair (the standalone Pet Hair Removal add-on is $50 on top of the Interior Detail; if shedding is significant, it’s the right add).
Full Detail — $300 sedan / $350 SUV (4-6 hours)
The flagship service. Combines a complete exterior decontamination with a top-to-bottom interior deep clean. The single most-booked service we offer.
What’s included:
- Everything in the Exterior Detail
- Full interior shampoo (seats, carpets, mats)
- Steam clean of vents, console, cup holders
- Leather cleaning and conditioning
- Door jamb deep clean
- Headliner spot-cleaning
- Fabric protectant on cloth seats
- Trunk vacuum and wipe-down
- Air freshening and final inspection
Best for: Vehicles that haven’t been detailed in 6+ months. Pre-sale prep. Twice-yearly maintenance (most clients book one in May before summer and one in October before winter). Recipients of the vehicle who want a full reset. Anyone treating the car after a long-deferred detailing schedule.
Skip if: You only need exterior or only need interior work — book the targeted service for less. The Full Detail is the right call when both are needed; otherwise it’s overkill.

Pairing services with subscription plans
If you’re considering a subscription:
- Weekly or Bi-Weekly Quick Detail plan: Quick Details are the visit type. Add a one-time Full Detail every 6 months in addition for the deeper reset.
- Monthly Full Detail plan: Full Details are the visit type. No additional service needed — this plan is the most comprehensive ongoing care we offer.
The most common combination: Bi-Weekly Quick Detail subscription, plus a one-time Full Detail in May and October. That cadence keeps a Long Island daily driver in showroom condition year-round at roughly $3,300/year — meaningful but predictable spend on a $40k+ vehicle.
Which one to book
Three quick decision rules:
- It’s been less than 6 weeks since the last detail: Quick Detail.
- Only one side (interior or exterior) needs serious work: book just that one.
- Both sides need work, or it’s been 6+ months: Full Detail.
Or request a quote and tell us about the vehicle’s current condition — we’ll recommend the right service. Available across Long Island.
