The Exterior Detail is a focused deep-clean of paint, wheels, and trim — without touching the interior beyond glass. Designed for vehicles whose exterior has been neglected for a few months but whose interior is fine. Includes clay bar paint decontamination and a hydrophobic spray sealant that lasts 2-3 months (or upgrade to the spray ceramic sealant for 4-6 months).

Two-bucket hand wash with pH-balanced shampoo
Single-vehicle dedicated mitts and towels. No cross-contamination.

Iron decontamination and tar removal
Iron-X removes embedded brake dust and metal particles; tar remover handles asphalt and adhesive residue.

Clay bar paint decontamination
Lifts embedded contaminants the wash can't reach. Leaves the paint glass-smooth.

Wheel and wheel-well deep clean
Brake dust, road grime, and salt deposits stripped from faces and inner barrels.

Tire shine application
Water-based, non-silicone. Looks satin, not greasy.

Hydrophobic spray sealant
2-3 months of water-beading protection. Upgrade to spray ceramic for 4-6 months (+$75).

Glass polish + rain-repellent treatment
Removes water spots, applies hydrophobic glass treatment that beads off rain.

Trim restoration on plastic and rubber
Restores black plastic and rubber trim to factory finish.

What's included in an Exterior Detail?
Two-bucket hand wash, iron decontamination, clay bar, wheel + wheel-well deep clean, tire shine, hydrophobic spray sealant, glass polish, and trim restoration. Takes 2-3 hours. Does not include interior shampoo or leather work — book a Full Detail if you need both sides.
How is this different from a hand car wash?
A hand car wash typically takes 30-45 minutes and skips the iron decontamination, clay bar, and sealant. The Exterior Detail is a 2-3 hour deep clean that resets the paint surface — water beads off cleanly afterward, and the protection lasts 2-3 months.
Should I get the spray ceramic sealant upgrade?
For Long Island coastal vehicles, yes — the +$75 upgrade extends protection from 2-3 months to 4-6 months. Salt water sheets off cleanly and the paint stays looking fresh much longer. For inland vehicles, the standard sealant is usually sufficient.
Will it remove swirl marks?
No — that requires paint correction (a body-shop service we don't offer). The Exterior Detail removes embedded contamination and adds protection. Swirl marks are scratches in the clear coat that need machine polishing to level.
How long does the protection last?
Standard hydrophobic spray sealant: 2-3 months. Spray ceramic sealant upgrade: 4-6 months. Both shed water, repel road grime, and make subsequent washes easier.
